“Fire Opal Red” according to the VIN, which looked a bit chintzy and wouldn’t be my first choice for this car but I appreciate a custom order nonetheless.
I was convinced it was a C or E coupe and actually had to walk around to check.

I wouldn’t drive one but I do love seeing bright red German cars, especially fast stuff. They’re so much fun compared to the usual grayscale.

Red cars are life. All other colors are invalid (except maybe bright yellow).

Not feeling the chrome. It could be that there’s actually too little of it to stand up to the red and it ends up looking a bit Pep Boys. I like what the Kia Stinger’s charcoal/gunmetal chrome brings to the usual brightwork vs. black trim dichotomy. That material would probably work very well here.

I love red cars too but this particular shade just looked too flat for such a substantial car. Mercedes Hyacinth Red is gorgeous and I would have gone for that instead.
That said, I would
kill
for a red E39 wagon.

I work at a dealer and have never seen it. The new E coupes really do look exactly like the s coupe unless younreally know what you’re looking at. Mercedes has a lot of cool colors but unfortunately everything is always white, selenite gray, and then a couple lunar blues and cardinals reds around on the lot in the back

Makes sense. And I had to basically fly out to LA the day after seeing the ad for the 540it, because it was going to get sold if I waited any longer. I ended up paying a bit more than the car was worth because I wanted the color so badly. I bought it with 174k miles in July 2016, and it’s at 203k now. It’s the perfect daily driver.
